The Hershey Vineyard located on Howell Mountain produced a stunning wine in 2010. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Hershey Vineyard’s opaque purple color is accompanied by copious aromas of pen ink, blackberries and creme de cassis. It is full-bodied, rich and pure, with the oak, acidity and tannins well-integrated. This limited production, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (114 cases) should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP) (10/2013)

Good bright, deep ruby. Superripe, exotic nose combines black fruits, mocha and beefsteak tomato (V8?). Outsized, creamy and deep, with the velvety middle palate saturating the palate and conveying an almost roasted impression of ripeness. Huge, remarkably lush but extreme wine with big, mouthcoating tannins; the beefsteak tomato quality carries through to the finish. Will this gain in firmness once it loses some of its baby fat? Broad-shouldered and powerful, dense and chewy, with extracted currant, blackberry and cedar notes. Firms on the finish, revealing a tannic backbone, with the flavors clinging to the palate. Best from 2014 through 2026. (JL) (11/2013)
