Tasting Notes:

Robert Parker:

“A classy, complex bouquet of lead pencil, mineral, earth, cassis and flowers jumps from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-colored 1997. Evolved and elegant, with noticeable tannin, it exhibits both breed and class as well as moderate weight, excellent depth, purity, and symmetry. Enjoy it now and over the next 10-12 years…at the minimum.” (04/2000)

Stephen Tanzer: “Deep red. Aromatic, very expressive nose combines black plum, currant, cedar, coconut, licorice and violet. Not especially dense or sweet in the mouth but offers youthful freshness and noteworthy flavor intensity. Narrows a bit on the back end, which features slightly hard tannins and moderate length.” (May/Jun 2000)

The Wine Spectator: “Attractive perfumes of berries and cherries. Light- to medium-bodied, with fresh fruit and a short finish.” (01/2000)
