Tasting Notes:
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Mouton-Rothschild can often be the most dramatic and flamboyant wine of the Medoc. The heavy reliance on Cabernet Sauvignon with tiny quantities of Merlot and Cabernet Franc in the 185-acre vineyard tends to produce powerful, nearly opaque purple wines that taste remarkably well young but close up quickly, with the wine’s tannin dominating the fruit for 10-15 or more years.
