Ratings & Tasting notes:
Michael Broadbent: “Distinctly more attractive than Lafite or Latour…well covered from the mid-1970s and a decade later displaying considerable charm with a delicate, fragrant bouquet and crisp fruit and ,though fully mature – looking, almost identical comments at a dinner in 1996. The following year, at the first of Wagner’s verticals, sweet, flavoury, refreshing, some charm buy just misses. Now fully mature-looking with a ruddy amber colour and a nowhere-to-go orange rim. Initially an attractive ‘leaf mould’ which opened up richly. Fairly sweet, nice weight and shape, lean yet fleshy. Last tasted November 2000. 3 stars. No need to wait.” (Michael Broadbent’s Vintage Wine, pg 82-83)
